FREQUENT QUESTIONS |

How do I know that the pet returned to me is actually my pet? While some providers offer the option of privately viewed cremation,we at Rainbow Bridge believe that every pet and owner deserve this security without the added trauma of having to view the cremation. In order to ensure that your pet is treated with the utmost care, each and every pet is issued a unique metal identification disc at the time it is received. Your pet's identification disc remains with it throughout the cremation process and is packaged along with the ashes inside of the urn. This is the same process that is required by law in the cremation of humans. We understand that your pet is a member of your family and deserves the very best. Why does Rainbow Bridge Pet Crematory now cremate individual pets using a "separation" cremation method? By utilizing the "separation" cremation method, overall "greenhouse" gas emissions are reduced, and environmental impact minimized due to the shorter operation time period of the cremation equipment. The cremation chamber has a very large surface area. In the past, the cremation of one single pet used to require about an hour of fuel and the emission of "greenhouse" gases. In the "separation" method, as many as three pets are separated in the chamber and are cremated in the same amount of time, significantly reducing these "greenhouse" gas emissions. This method is now widely practiced throughout the pet cremation industry. Rainbow Bridge Pet Crematory will always strive to find the best ways to remain environmentally sensitive as it relates to cremation practices. How long does the cremation process take and when will I receive my pet's remains? Rainbow Bridge Pet Crematory makes every effort to pick up your cherished pet from your local veterinary hospital on the same day as requested, if before 2 p.m.. We also try our best to ensure that your pet is cremated within 12 hours of arrival to our facility. Rainbow Bridge Pet Crematory will return your pet's remains and closure package back to your local veterinarian's office in about 7 days. In what type of container will my pet's remains be returned? Each individual cremation
is returned to the pet owners in an attractive cedar box enclosed in a
velvet bag. Will you pick up my pet at my residence? Yes. For an additional
fee, we will pick up your pet up at your residence, and deliver the ashes
back to your local veterinarian. We do not allow pet owners to drop off
their pets at our facility at this time. Another option is to contact
your local Emergency Animal Hospital for further assistance on preserving
your pet until we can pick up your pet. Can we pre-plan? Yes. This is recommended
as it is easier to deal with prior your pet's passing. Arrangements
can be made by contacting your local veterinary hospital. What if my veterinarian does not offer the services of Rainbow Bridge Pet Crematory? We are strictly a
pickup service. Therefore, drop offs are not allowed at our facility.
We do, however, make regular pickups at over 50 veterinary hospitals in
the Austin area. Most veterinary hospitals will allow their clients to
choose cremation services. What information should I request about cremation services? When choosing your selected cremation service, it is important to ask the following questions:
